The kids and I are headed to their school on Hallow’s Eve for a Trunk or Treat that the school has put on for the last couple years. Parents, teachers and people from the neighborhood all pull their cars into the school parking lot and open and decorate their trunks. The kids trick or treat from one car to the next and get to see their friends and teachers. We have never participated before, but I figured we’d give it a go this year. If it’ not great, we won’t do it again, but I think it will be fun!
Leah is dressing up as a bride this year. Anna will be a fairy. Jacob is wearing a funny hat that looks like his head has been chopped into with a butcher knife. LOL The baby is going as a black kitten. I’ll be dressed as a frazzled mom of four. Imagine that! I’ll post photos afterwards!

My brother’s friend made this little film. I thought it was pretty cool. They ask 50 people one question and compile the answers in the film.

Yesterday was a month to the day that Ella was born! That first month went by super fast!!
She’s gaining weight and getting chubby and, before long, I’ll have to try hard to remember how tiny she was.
Her hair seems to be lightening and getting a bit longer in some spots. She sleeps decent at night, most nights, but likes to be right next to me. She is already a mommy’s baby and I don’t mind. Sometimes when David holds her, she just fusses but when I get her she quiets down for seemingly no other reason other than I’ve got her. LOL Granted, I know there will be many times when I’ll just wish she wants her daddy!

I am loving having a little one again. It’s wonderful. However, I am also watching Alex again as well so that means I have 2 babies everyday! Needless to say, this leaves very little time to clean the house. I have piles of laundry laying all over the living room, on the sofa, in baskets on the floor… everywhere! I have dishes in the sink and my floors are horrible! In fact, why am I blogging? LOL I have a house to clean! Bye!

Just sharing a few pictures of my three girls together.
Leah, Ella & Anna all together

Leah kissing Ella (& Ella trying to eat Leah)

At about 2 1/2 weeks old, Ella lost her umbilical cord stump so she was able to have her 1st real bath that day. This is a picture I took after she was all dried off and dressed afterwards. Her hair looks so soft and fluffy (and red).

I took Ella back to the dr. today for her check up and found out that she weighs 10 pounds 12 ounces! She’s gained 2 pounds in the last 2 weeks! I was pretty surprised. I knew she had gained weight, but I was expecting it to be about a pound or so, not 2!! But that’s great because it means she’s getting plenty of nourishment. She’s starting to get little rolls around her wrists and thighs and her little double chin is getting chubbier along with those sweet chubby cheeks!
The dr. said she looks great and is doing fine, other than still being just a little jaundice. They did another blood test today to make sure the number isn’t too high. The first time they pricked her, she didn’t bleed enough, so they pricked the other heel too. My poor little baby. When we got home, I noticed both of her heels are badly bruised where the nurse squeezed her feet to make them bleed. I felt so bad for her.

I am fascinated by baby feet, and not just my own baby’s feet. Little baby feet in general are just so cute. Tiny, little, non-smelly replicas of our own. So I decided to take a picture of Ella’s tiny feet today and it actually came out pretty good, so, here it is:
Today, the 11th of October, is Ella’s 16th day with us. She still seems so tiny, but I can tell she’s growing little by little. She always seems hungry and is always very ready to nurse. I suspect she’ll be a fat little chubby butt in no time!

Today was Leah’s 8th birthday! Eight! Wow, time flies! She headed off to school this morning with birthday cupcakes for her class. Then, this evening, she decided on Chili’s for her birthday dinner, where she received a free birthday dessert… the humongous Chocolate Chip Molten Lava Cake. It was HUGE! Served with a mega scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, covered in Magic Shell, complete with 4 spoons! All three of my big kids descended on this dessert like a pack of hungry wolves! You would have never known they’d just eaten dinner. LOL They did all agree it was delicious and each one had chocolate on some part of their face by the time the cake was gone. Yep, even Jacob.
After dinner, Leah called her MawMaw Kathy and asked if she and Anna could spend the night. So we dropped them off just before coming home. It wasn’t a very action packed birthday for Leah, but I think she had a pretty good time. We have her actual birthday party a little later in the month and she’s looking very forward to that!
