My son is so funny. He’s told me over the past few days that he wants to learn a second language. At first, he wanted to learn Italian, so I looked into getting him the Muzzy video program. I was shocked to discover it was $200! So needless to say, that’s a big negative for now. I told him if he wanted to learn French, I could help him a little bit since I took it in high school and college. I don’t remember a whole lot, but I could, at least help him with pronunciation. I sat with him on the computer for about half an hour and he was completely overwhelmed. He told me he didn’t think he could ever learn French. I had to laugh and then explained to him no one ever learned a language overnight. I told him I’d make him some flash cards and he’d have to learn a little bit at a time.

The last couple weeks have been the ugliest, wettest days! It has been so gray outside lately. I can’t remember the last time the sky was blue, It’s cold. It’s rainy. It’s sunless. It’s awful.. I just want to look outside and see sunshine and blue skies. Supposedly, tomorrow will be a nice day out. I surely hope so. I am sick and tired of these gray days. It does absolutely nothing for the spirit and it leaves you feeling… BLAH… Yuck!

My new favorite thing to do is fill my bird feeders and watch the little finches flood my yard. I get a few other birds like cardinals, chickadees, titmice and doves (which I love to see), but mostly finches. A few times, I’ve had over a hundred little birds on the feeder, the pole and the ground below the feeders. It’s wonderful! They show up every day and eat all day long. I fill the feeders each morning and by dusk, the food is gone! Hungry little buggers!
Birds
Look at the ground, they blend in well, but if you look closely you can see them!

I’ve made a few new projects! Very cute! The first two are cards I made using cardstock paper, stamp sets, and ribbon. The pink and black one was very quick and easy. The brown, green and blue one was also easy, just a bit more time consuming. The little box was the fourth box I’ve made since I started with the paper crafts, but it was, by far, the easiest! I’m happy with the way these three little projects turned out. If you’d like step by step instructions, just let me know!!

I had to take my youngest daughter to the dr. yesterday for her last set of shots. It was AWFUL. She had to get a total of three. She tried to be brave, poor baby. She was laughing nervously as she laid down, but then started crying and said, “Mommy, I’m scared.” Broke my heart! After the first one, she was really sobbing and after the second, she was starting to get a bit hysterical. They had to have her turn over for the other leg for the third and she started to freak. I had to hold her and when the nurse went to give her the last one, Anna jerked and the needle sliced her instead of actually going in. Then she still had to get the actual shot. I was almost in tears myself by this point. The nurse then wiped the cut with an alcohol wipe and Anna just about jumped out of her skin. She sobbed for about twenty minutes. It was, by far, my worst shot experience with any of my kiddos. Thank goodness that’s it for a long while.
It sucked because the nurse wasn’t really nice. Instead of just being compassionate, she told her “That’s why you need to be still.” Ahh… hello. She’s 5… That sorta ticked me off a little. I was just glad to get out of there… and I know Anna was too.

Last night, my dad and I went and saw Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street at the movie theater. I LOVED it. Really macabre in that awesome Tim Burton way, but darker than some of his other stuff, which made it even better. But it still had that quirky humor too. Both Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter gave superb performances. Alan Rickman is also in the movie and he plays a real lowlife, but he does it wonderfully. Love him.
It’s a musical/horror, which is, surprisingly, a great combo. Many of the scenes (especially the bloody ones) seemed very theatrical, almost like I was watching a stage performance. In my opinion, it’s a must-see, just because Johnny Depp sings. But the story is really an amazing one. I’ll definitely be getting this on DVD when it comes out.

Well, I guess there’s nothing else to say at this point but a big, fat WHOOOO HOOOO!!! The LSU Tigers walked away with it last night! They are the National Champions! They trounced OSU last night in a very impressive manner! Yeah! Ohio scored first, but after that it was DOMINATION!! Our guys played a really great game and I was so pumped up last night. We got a few interceptions, a few sacks, caused a couple fumbles… it was beautiful to watch! My hubby and I stayed up for some of the post game show and went to bed a little after midnight, but I would have loved to have been in the Quarter last night. What a party that must have been.
Thanks to the Tigers for making it such an exciting season! Wow! I’m actually still a little giddy…
